Every Healthy Home Evaluation begins with a brief phone consultation. This 10 to 20 minute conversation connects you directly with a BPI Certified Building Science Expert.
During this call, we:
- Learn about your comfort concerns, energy costs, and goals
- Ask questions about your home’s age, layout, and existing systems
- Determine whether the evaluation is the right next step
- Schedule your no-cost in-home evaluation and send a short Customer Questionnaire
The questionnaire helps us prepare for your visit so our time in your home is focused and productive. This initial step ensures we are aligned before we ever walk through your door. It is informative, not high pressure, and designed to make sure we are the right fit for your needs.
Step 2: The No-Cost In-Home Evaluation (1-1.5 Hours)
Your in-home evaluation is where the science happens. This comprehensive assessment takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the size of your home. It is always provided at no cost.
We do not walk through your home and offer opinions. We perform measurable testing that reveals how your home is truly performing.
During your Healthy Home Evaluation, we complete:
- An initial walkthrough to understand your concerns and identify problem areas
- A Lidar scan of the home to digitally measure layout and performance factors
- A 30 minute indoor air quality test to evaluate the air you are breathing
- A detailed visual inspection of insulation, ventilation, and accessible systems
- An air leakage test to measure how much conditioned air is escaping
- An infrared thermal scan to identify hidden temperature differences and gaps
- A 10 minute presentation with your Home Health Specialist before we leave
This combination of diagnostics allows us to see what cannot be detected with the naked eye. We measure airflow, heat loss, insulation effectiveness, and air quality. Instead of guessing which improvement might help, we collect data that shows where improvements will make the greatest impact.
Step 3: Findings and Solutions Review
After the in-home evaluation, we schedule your review based on your preference. You can choose:
- A virtual video review within 24 to 72 hours that takes less than one hour
- An in-person review approximately one week after your evaluation
During this session, we walk you through exactly what we found. We explain the results in clear, straightforward language and connect each finding to your comfort concerns. You will see where your home is performing well and where it can improve.
Most importantly, we guide you through practical next steps. Our recommendations are prioritized based on comfort impact, energy efficiency, and your budget. Some homeowners choose to address everything at once. Others prefer a phased approach that focuses on the biggest comfort issues first. You remain in control of the pace and investment.
